Summit Bodyworks, a premier builder of tool trucks, mobile libraries, moving trucks and other specialty vehicles has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Production Team Lead. Every truck we build is customized from the chassis up; we build our vehicles to suit the needs and desires of our diverse customer base. The Production Team Lead is responsible for leading, planning, organizing and directing all daily activities. This position is a working lead who will be working side by side with the production staff. We offer a full benefits package for eligible employees including: Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife (Voluntary and Employer Paid) and Disability Insurance401(K) with company match beginning with your first contribution.HSA and/or FSA, as applicablePaid Time Off, Sick Time, and Company Paid HolidaysEmployee Car Discount Program ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meeting delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards.Provide leadership and line management to the team, coordinating their workload, providing support to ensure that the team delivers.Ability to understand the production schedule and ensure the schedule is followed.Ensure that team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and comply with quality requirements.Implement lean best practices to drive high product quality, shorten build cycle times and reduce internal costs.Learn all aspects of the assembly process and training where applicable.Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.Other duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods.Requires lifting up to 75 pounds frequently.Requires stretching to reach items up to 75 pounds.Requires working confined spaces.Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery.Occasionally works at heights using ladder or mechanical lift.Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity.Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.Requires working in a fast paced environment.Requires a normal range of hearing and vision.Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations.Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: High School diploma or equivalent.Two years working in a manufacturing environment (required)Experience in machine operations in a manufacturing environment (preferred)Ability to understand and use our computer applications and data collection and recording (Excel,SAP, Email, etc.)Strong interpersonal and communication skills with strong team-building skillsA demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through othersAbility to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve resultsQuality orientation and attention to detailAn ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to read blueprints and work orders.Ability to read a tape measure.Must have basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.Ability to efficiently use various power and hand tools.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Ability to be responsive and highly efficient with relaying information.Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
